About Qatar


Doha is the capital of Qatar, located in the Middle East and is a part of the GCC. The country follows the Islamic religion and the spoken language is Arabic and English. The ruler is the EMIR, His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, whose dynamism has put Qatar on the world map. The wealth of Qatar comes from natural gas. Qatar has the largest single natural gas resource in the world. These enormous resources have brought in enormous foreign investments since the 1970s resulting in dramatic growth and prosperity. His Highness, The Emir has inspired and encouraged every Qatari to take advantage of this economic boom to develop individual businesses and investments. The Emir has a vision to transform Qatar from a conservative and traditional country into a cultural and educational Powerhouse of the Middle East. His dream is passionately shared by his wife Shaikha Mozah bint Nasser Almisnad who believes that “Education helps to develop a country and without education we can’t achieve anything.” Shaikha .Mozah Al Missned is the chairperson of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, a private non- profit organization founded in 1995. Qatar Foundation is an educational city that comprises of International campuses of universities, e.g Weil Cornel University and Georgetown University. The active role of her highness has inspired Qatari women to participate in the education sector to help develop education in Qatar.
